Even though it looks relatively simple, spray painting art creation isn’t that easy! If you wish to create masterpieces using spray paints, you need to remember a few essential points. Let’s find out more about the process and how you can create stunning artworks.

Choose Your Spray Paint

Just like any other color, there is a wide variety of spray paints available in the market. You need to be sure about the color type, its consistency, and the solvent quality. The consistency and color type will depend on the type of surface you are going to work with. The solvent quality has to be of a high grade at all times. Opt for the artist’s spray paints. They contain acetone that does not cause much harm to the health of the artist. However, cover your nose and mouth nonetheless. You also need to check the shades you are getting, especially the transparent shades. Those will be necessary for the finer details.

Choose Your Color

There’s no point in getting an extensive collection of spray paint bottles. Depending upon your work, you will require just a few specific shades. You can always get new cans for new work. So, choose your colors wisely. You must carefully select the transparent shades since they will be needed for the final touches. If you want your painting to glow in the dark, then opt for the fluorescent dyes.

Know The Nozzles

One fundamental mistake that many painters make is not giving proper attention to the nozzle. The nozzle is critical since it will determine how the paint gets sprayed. Your entire painting can get destroyed if your nozzle is spluttering. So, remember to keep the nozzle clean at all times. You will need some solvent like acetone in which you need to keep the nozzles to dissolve away the paints and keep them clean. It is best to leave the nozzles in the solution overnight.

Gain Control Of The Spray

Control is everything. You must have total control of how you are going to use the paint. One great trick is to create a grid using spray cans and then cerate dots within the grids using other spray cans. This will also allow you to understand when your nozzles start spluttering.

Experiment

There are numerous ways to create various effects. You can use crumpled newspapers to give the color a distinct pattern once sprayed. You can use bowls and designs cut within the paper to create various patterns. This process is particularly useful while painting galaxy, planets, and such items. There is nothing like practicing. Only with experience will you be able to start creating unique paintings.
